GARDEN IN ARLES

Hand-cut art wooden jigsaw puzzle of circa 900 pieces - Made in France and environmentally friendly.

Having settled in Arles in 1888, Vincent van Gogh found in the gardens an ideal subject for exploring the color and light of southern France. In this composition, the flowerbeds unfold in successive bands, while a winding path guides the eye through the garden. Rather than a faithful representation of a place, the artist seeks to convey the vitality of nature through a free and energetic brushstroke. The short, visible brushstrokes fragment the forms and give the whole a remarkable sense of movement. Like a puzzle, the motifs repeat themselves without ever being identical: the nuances of color and variations in brushwork make this work a superb challenge!
