OUR STORY
In 1975, Michèle Wilson founted Puzzle Michèle Wilson. She developed an artistic way of cutting to suit each artist's style and brushstrokes. The adventure began in Tournus, Burgundy, where Michèle Wilson cut out her first puzzles, and continued in Paris, where she opened her first boutique. The company has continued this unique expertise for the past 50 years, creating its exceptional hand-crafted puzzles!

THE ART OF WOODEN JIGSAW PUZZLES
Our artistic cutting process follows a simple pattern: it is the craftsman who shape the pieces, not a machine! Each work is chosen for its visual appeal. The wood, prepared in our workshop in Chalon-sur-Saône, is then cut both on-site and in our two Parisian workshop-boutiques. Guided by the image, without any prior outlines, our craftsmen sculpt each piece by hand using a coping saw. This unique expertise is passed down from one generation of craftsmen to the next.

BEAUTIFUL AND ENTHRALLING JIGSAW PUZZLES
Our jigsaw puzzles are very different from classic puzzles. The pieces all have unique shapes! Each puzzle is one-of-a-kind, and the strategy for solving it is always different. They are three times more difficult than ordinary puzzles. The graceful curve of the pieces will guide you through the works they depict!
LA DÉCOUPE ARTISTIQUE MET EN VALEUR LES DÉTALS DU TABLEAU

« It is not the subject of the painting nor the painter’s technique that makes the puzzle difficult, but the subtlety of the cut. It is not a solitary game (despite appearances). Every move made by the puzzler has already been made by the puzzle-maker before them; every piece, every hope, every moment of discouragement, every groping attempt, every intuition has been decided, calculated, and studied by the other. »
GEORGE PEREC, Life: A User's Manual, 1978
