FEAST OF THE ARCHERS

Hand-cut art wooden jigsaw puzzle of circa 900 pieces - Made in France and environmentally friendly.

No one today knows the true name of the Master of Frankfurt. Active in Antwerp in the late 15th century, he is one of those anonymous artists whose works have been attributed to him by art historians based on their distinctive style. Housed at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp, this Feast of the Archers depicts a gathering organized by the Old Bow Company, one of the city’s archery guilds. Behind its profusion of figures, the work is replete with clues - such as banners and coats of arms - that allow us to identify the various parties present. As you explore the composition, you will also discover the many little details scattered throughout the image: figures perched in the trees, visitors attempting to climb over the hedges and archers who have fallen into the moat.
