Painted around 1874, La Maison du Jas de Bouffan reflects the influence of Pissarro and the Impressionists on Paul Cézanne. Depicting the artist’s family home in Aix-en-Provence, this work marks the beginning of his Provençal period. Here, Cézanne already displays his famous luminous palette, subtly blending the yellows, reds, greens and blues that would make him famous.
