Entitled Nova totius Terrarum Orbis geographica ac hydrographica tabula or 'New geographic and hydrographic representation of all lands in the world', this ancient map in Latin is the work of Dutch cartographer Willem Blaeu. It reflects the geographic and scientific knowledge of the early 17 century. It is surrounded by detailed illustrations: seven allegorical figures representing the seven 'planets' known at the time, the four elements, the four seasons and the seven wonders of the ancient world.
