Tsuchiya Koitsu was a Japanese artist, born in 1870 and deceased in 1949. Like his contemporary Hasui Kawase, he belonged to the Shin-Hanga, or pictorial revival, movement. This print represents a street scene in Ushigome, an old neighbourhood of Tokyo.
