Hand-cut art wooden jigsaw puzzle of circa 1200 pieces - Made in France and environmentally friendly.
Created around 1480 in Cologne, these three panels from the Altarpiece of the Seven Joys of the Virgin depict, from left to right, the Adoration of the Magi, the Presentation of Jesus at the Temple, and Christ Appearing to Mary. They are attributed to the enigmatic painter known as the Master of the Holy Kinship the Younger and are now housed at the Louvre Museum in Paris. The four remaining panels of the altarpiece are on display at the Germanisches Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg, Germany, as the complete work was dispersed over the centuries.
The gilded backgrounds, characteristic of medieval painting, the richly detailed costumes, and the abundance of intricate details reward close observation. At the feet of the figures, two small dogs wander through the scene, an unexpected touch that brings everyday life into the heart of these sacred images.
